Mad Science Camps 2026

Mad Science
We are offering two weeks of Mad Science Camp this summer! The first week runs June 22 - 26, and the second week runs August 10 - 14, each from 9am to 4pm. Mad Science camp is for children ages 6 - 12. Both weeks of camp will be in the Multipurpose Room at the Community Center (499 Hopwood Rd., Collegeville). There are two different themes each week - one in the morning, and another in the afternoon. Themes for each week are detailed below.

WEEK 1
June 22 - 26 Theme: Secret Agent Lab: Funky Forensics

Step into the shoes of a detective — uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Using your observational skills, collect evidence and analyze the clues left behind. Recreate the scene of a crime using schematics. Use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing!

June 22 - 26 Theme: Mad Machines Jr. Engineers
Whether you enjoy building or destroying structures, you’ll love this camp! Work with simple machines such as pulleys, wedges, screws, and levers, to build your own catapults! Experiment with tessellation with triangles and cubes. Exercise your ability to work with others while constructing a geodesic dome big enough for everyone to fit inside! Let the building begin!

WEEK 2
August 10 - 14 Theme: Super Slimy Smokey Science
Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you help solve a mystery, stretch silly putty and slime, copper-plate nickels, tinker with circuits, and investigate optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice, and hair-raising experiments! You will love what happens when you mix science and fun!

August 10 - 14 Theme: Jr. Physician's Academy
The Lung and the Breathless- Explore all of the cells, organs, muscles, and bones that make up YOU! Put yourself together from the inside out, while learning about all the systems that make your body tick! Get microscopic while making a model cell and inflatable lungs and then get a little sticky while making Mad Mucus and a mashed potato brain!
