Shining Knights Chess Camp
Knights, captures, action!

Whether you are new to the game, are learning to push pawns for the first time, or have played in numerous tournaments and want to sharpen your skills, come to Shining Knights Chess Camp! We have trained many kids to enjoy the game so that they can spend hours playing with friends and family. So, whether you want to win games in your living room against your parents or win tournaments in other states, come join us and learn how to play chess or play better chess!

Campers receive a tournament-style chess set and Shining Knights T-shirt.

Chess Camp is July 21 - 25, from 9am - 12pm, and is in the Silo Room at the Community Center (499 Hopwood Rd., Collegeville). Chess Camp is for children ages 6 - 12.

Requirements
Parents must complete the Emergency Contact & Medical Information Form, and sign the Camp Waiver/Release form during the registration process. Please read the Camp Handbook as well, by clicking on the link below.

General Information
  • Anyone from total beginners through experienced players will benefit from this chess camp.
  • Activities include learning openings, tactics, endgames, studying master games, playing games against fellow students, and analyzing the students’ games.

Refund Policy
Program Cancellation and Refund Policy: Upper Providence Township reserves the right to cancel any program, trip or activity due to insufficient registration, inclement weather or any reasonable cause; in this case a full refund will be issued. No refunds will be issued for camp cancellations unless requests are made in writing prior to 14 days of the start of a program. All refunds are subject to a 15% processing fee. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellation of bus trips, or cancellations made after the start of a program. There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
